LVMH’s Bernard Arnault Exits World’s Richest List

Due to the rise of tech, this is the first time Arnault sits outside the top 10 since 2017.

Chairman and CEO of luxury giant LVMH, Bernard Arnault, fell out of the top ten of Bloomberg’s Billionaires Index last week as US technology takes over.

This marks the first time the LVMH boss has sat outside of the top ten since 2017.

Arnault dropped to 11th place last week, falling behind investor Warren Buffett.

His change in position this year is due to Arnault’s fortune falling by $65 billion since the beginning of 2026 to approximately $143 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

Earlier this year, Arnault was ordered to pay €22.5m in taxes following a long-term dispute with France’s authorities related to tax liabilities.

His set annual salary was revealed to be roughly €1.1m for 2026 – the same amount as he was paid in 2025, according to LVMH.
